TeenPact
Written by Songbird
TeenPact was founded in 1994 by Tim Echols. The goal of TeenPact is to help students to realize their role as the next generation of leaders and to train and prepare them by teaching them, giving them tools, and opportunities to experience growth and to learn to understand the political process, about state government at the capital, how to value their liberty, and defend their Christian faith. Also while experiencing TeenPact students will also study the election process. Students can run for committee chairman, committee clerk, senator, and governor – parliamentary debate; how a bill becomes a lway and so much more! TeenPact is a hands on leadership school where Christian students can learn how they can change their world. The administrators at TeenPact believe that God has given every young person a large spiritual capacity and should encourage and use their God given talents. In Every TeenPact program students will experience spiritual discipleship, and will learn how to be a student leader in a safe Christian environment. TeenPact has classes in 38 states so far and it is still growing! Students who attend TeenPact will not only learn about government but they will also meet other students who will challenge them both mentally and spiritually and will develop lifelong friendships. TeenPact Ohio will hold two separate classes in 2012, April 16-19 and April 23-26. If you would like to learn more about TeenPact you can check out this link for more information. http://teenpact.com/ Though I personally have never attended TeenPact many of my friends have gone and have thoroughly enjoyed it and have learned a lot and have made great friends.

Co-op Tomorrow!
Hey Everyone!
Wow here we are again at the night before Co-op. Can you believe a whole week has gone by already and so quickly? I don't know about everyone else but for me this semester has just been going by soooo quickly. It's crazy because including tomorrow we only have nine weeks left! What?! we have already gone through three week!?! I cannot believe it. This semester is just zooming by! It has been a good semester so far though. I'm just still holding out for no snow days! : ) Hopefully the weather will be good tomorrow for everyone to drive in. I'm OK with it being cold out and I actually love the snow but not when it makes us unable to have Co-op! lol A few notes for you all. 1) Remember to get all your homework done and everything you need gathered for Co-op tomorrow done tonight so that your ready for your classes tomorrow. 2) PLEASE remember to arrive to Co-op on time!!! By you being late that can both postpone the beginning of class because everyone is waiting for you...or it can also mean that the class will begin without you and when you come in late it will not only bother your teacher but it will be a disruption to the rest of the class. It's really simple actually on a normal day leave your house 5 minutes earlier so that you can get to class on time...or if it's really bad weather leave ten to twenty minutes earlier so you have plenty of time to get to Co-op safely and on time. Also if your going to be late just call one of the committee members and let them know that you are on your way just going to be a few minutes late. That way your teacher is prepared. Also another thing is try not to talk in the hall ways to much if you are running in between classes. Talking is a distraction to students in classes and it will make you late to your own. Lets all try to arrive to our classes on time this week at Cornerstone Co-op! : ) I hope that you all had a great week. I can't wait to see you all tomorrow. Have an awesome day!!!

Ten Favorite Things About Winter
Written by @ l ; n @
Probably my favorite activity to do when there's a lot of snow is going sledding with my cousins. I also enjoy watching the snow, especially at night. It is also good for taking pictures, and I like experimenting with different angles. Ice skating is another activity. Oh! And drinking hot chocolate :-)Another activity is Christmas caroling with friends and family. Christmas and New Years Day are two very fun holidays for me. I (of course) greatly enjoy my Christmas break, and getting to see more of family. Now I know I'm crazy, but I do love cold weather, and just having everything be colder is refreshing for me.
Even More Options
Written by Songbird
Beginning today you are now able to purchase all-beef hotdogs for $1.50 each at the snack table. It's exciting for us to have another option for lunch and hopefully everyone will take advantage of this new item. Pizza will still be offered but there will not be as many pizzas ordered due to lack of sales. If you would like to have pizza for lunch be sure to sign up early so that enough pizzas can be ordered.

Modern Day Super Heroes?
Written by Songbird
One Saturday night in Seattle Fabio Heuring was standing outside of a restaurant with a friend when an enraged man ran right into them. For no apparent reason the man began to beat up Heuring's friend. Then out of the blue swooped in a strange sight, a self appointed super hero in a black mask and muscle suit sprayed the enraged man with pepper spray much to Heuring's surprise and relief. Strangely enough these self appointed super heroes have been popping up all over the globe fighting crime and helping out citizens even with every day tasks. From the United States to Hong Kong these modern day super heroes are hitting the streets and helping those in need. A few examples are, Polarman from Canada helps others by shoveling snow, trying to stop vandalism, and cleaning play grounds. Super Vadclav from the Czech Republic douses cigarette smokers with water and attacks dog owners who don't pick up after their dogs. Red Arrow from Hong Kong hands out gifts and shields people with umbrellas. Citizen Prime from the United States distributes literature and attempts to get the community involved with fighting crime. All these heroes donned in tights, boots, masks, and capes live there day to day lives ready for action at any moment and ready to help there fellow citizens. However, even though these self appointed heroes are intending there actions to be heroic unfortunately some of there actions are also illegal. But, what these men and women don't realize is that you don't need a cape or mask or another identity to be a hero. You can be a hero to your friends, your family, and even people you don't know. You can donate to a charity, give your time to someone in need, and so much more to be a hero in their eyes. No tights necessary!

Remember The Rules
Written by Songbird
Hey Everyone! Just a quick reminder since we have been out for a few weeks now. Remember that unless you are in the covered area in front of the church you need an adult with you outside anywhere else.(not that you would want to go out there since it is so cold right now) Also remember to keep your food over the tarps by the tables set up for eating lunches and not on the couches. The church is very considerate for allowing us to have Co-op in there church so please remember to respect the building and the Co-op rules. For the rest of the rules you can read the Cornerstone Co-op handbook. Also please remember to arrive to Co-op early so you can be in your classes on time. This is a courtesy not only to the teacher but also to your fellow classmates. I hope you all had a great Christmas break and I know this is going to be another amazing semester at Cornerstone Co-op! : )
Movie Review: Puss In Boots
Written by Songbird
The movie Puss In Boots tells the “tail” of the life and childhood of Puss In Boots. Puss began life as a lonely tabby taken in by an orphanage. He quickly became friends with another young fellow outcast named Humpty Dumpty. He made his way in life sharing Humpty's dreams of someday finding magic beans and climbing a beanstalk to a golden egg kingdom in the sky. One day Puss heroically saved an endangered person and earned his boots as a symbol of honor and bravery. However, one choice pulled the friends apart and caused Puss to be wrongly accused of being a criminal. Puss learned to live his life with with only his sword and his boots. One day he meets a thief named Kitty Softpaws she is beautiful and talented and shares his desire to find and plant the legendary beans. What Puss doesn't know is that she is working for Humpty Dumpty! And that begins the adventure that takes Puss and his friends to the golden egg kingdom in the sky. From early on Puss is known as a good guy. He was raised by his adoptive mother Imelda who taught him right and wrong. Puss is known to stand up for his friends and risks his life to save an old woman, Kitty, and even Humpty who betrayed him. Puss and his friends must fight to steal the magic beans from the evil Jack and Jill who are keeping the magic beans so that they can steal the golden goose. Puss manages to steal the beans and plant them and he and his friends climb the beanstalk to the golden kingdom and steal the golden goose. Later we uncover that in a heist that Humpty and Puss pulled as children Humpty left Puss to take all of the blame and Puss had been an outlaw the rest of his life. In the end Humpty gives up his life to protect the town and save the golden goose. Humpty's outer shell shatters leaving a solid inner golden egg behind. “I always knew you were good inside.” Puss says and forgives Humpty. Puss in Boots is an action packed fun “tail” that gives a character-driven, intelligent story which dares us all to earn our own boots for our own acts of heroism and attempts to do the right thing. In my opinion Puss In Boots is a great movie that the whole family can enjoy!

Christmas Break Is Now Over!
Hey Everyone!
Wow here we are once again at the night before Co-op. I can't believe that Co-op resumes TOMORROW! I'm pretty excited to start all my new classes and see all my Co-op friends but I wish Christmas break was a little longer. I hope that you all have had a great week. Since we have been on break for a while just a few reminders... PLEASE try to leave your house early so that you will arrive to your first class on time. Also once you arrive please plan enough time to get to your class. I know it's tempting to talk to friends you haven't seen in a long time in the halls and to loose track of time. But, as a courtesy to your teachers and your other classmates please try to arrive to class early or at least on time. Make sure that you have all your homework compleated for your continuing classes. Also make sure that you have all of your supplise that you need for all your new classes. I hope that you are ready because it's going to be another great semester at Cornerstone Co-op!

2012
Hey Everyone!
Wow is it just me or did Christmas break fly by?! Literally it seems as if we just finished Co-op a week ago and here we are again the week before Spring semester at Co-op begins! I hope that you all had a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope that you all had an awesome break from school to spend time with your friends and family. My break was amazing but it seemed to go by very quickly. I guess it really is true that time flies when you are having fun! But now the holiday season is over and we are steadily moving towards begining second semester at Co-op. I hope you all are excited. I am not really ready to have my break over yet but am very excited to see all of my friends at Co-op again. Just a reminder that Co-op resumes next Tuesday. Tuesday January 10th. Be sure to get all of your homework finished for all your continuing classes and all your supplise ready for each class. Also be sure to arrive at Co-op on time or early for your first class so that class can begin on time as usual. I am looking forward to seeing you all next Tuesday. Have a great week everyone!
