OK so the make up day has ended and today was officially the first Tuesday so far on Christmas break from Co-op! Officially The Last!

OK so today was officially the last day of Co-op including showcase and the make up day. Showcase Was Great!!!

Hey Everyone!
So last night was showcase!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so sad that it is over, but happy that I am going to have Christmas break! : ) Showcase was amazing! The choir, orchestra, guitar, drama, latin, ASL, music makers, Art work, and all the other displays were amazing! I so enjoyed getting to be a part of it and think it went really well. Afterwards we all went to CiCi's pizza buffet and hung out after showcase! It was an Awesome night! ; ) As most of you know the Gazette is taking a break for Christmas but we are still going to be posting on here some articles and interesting things and reminders over the break. So don't stop checking our blog because we are going to be posting new things for you to read all break! Tomorrow Night's The Night!!!!! Wondering what I am talking about????? The Winter Cornerstone Co-op is having there showcase on Tuesday November 30th at 7:00pm! There will be music, dramma, artwork, and even an outing to Cici's pizza buffet afterwards!!!! WOW!!!

Hey Everyone!
Thanks so much for voting on our poll this week! Most people voted that they couldn't believe that it was mid terms already! I can't either! lol If you get the chance please vote on our most recent poll. So today was I believe week seven out of twelve! WOW crazy isn't it??? Like a normal Tuesday morning we all went to Co-op only to be surprised in our classes that we all had to go home because there were strong winds and tornado sirens going off! I was so sad! And it was funny because I was eating lunch with some friends and we were joking about tornado sirens and lightning and having to go home and then someone walked up and said we needed to leave! Seventh Week Of Co-op!!!!

Reporting!!!

Hey Everyone!
So Co-op went really well today I thought. The yearbook staff is still snapping pictures and the Gazette is still reporting on all of the Co-op news! Thanks to everyone who voted on our last poll. Scratch And Sniff!!!!

Hey Everyone!
OK so today was another day of Co-op. I hope it went well for you all. My day actually went pretty well except for the fact of tiredness. lol But anyways today the yearbook staff started coming into classes to take class pictures for the yearbook. I know I had my picture taken in at least two classes today so the photographers are definitely working hard! On the topic of yearbook (if you read the Gazette you would know this) the yearbook staff is selling candles again this year. They have some great candles but seriously I thought the magazine they had was even cooler! It was scratch and sniff!!!!! So I know you probably don't care about that but I just wanted to tell you. So if you want to check out a cool scratch and sniff magazine check them out. Today was really super nice outside so I hope some of you got to eat your lunch outside. Tired!!!!

I hope that you had a good day at Co-op today. I know that I did. But I really felt more tired today more then normal actually. I just wanted to fall asleep in class but I didn't! Official First Day!!!

Ohmygoodness! Today was the official first day of Co-op. : ) I was so happy with how it went. My classes are all really good and my friends are well of course awesome!! (props go out to you guys!) I think that it is going to be a very good year. I wanted to ask you all to please bare with us as Kitty and I adjust the layout of the website. People were commenting that it was very hard to read and we totally agree. The back ground was really cool but you couldn't really read the text well. First Day Of Co-op is TOMORROW!!!

OK I honestly cannot believe that the first day of Co-op is tomorrow!!!!!! It makes me nervous about new classes and new teachers, excited to see my friends, sad that summer is over, and happy because I get to take the classes that I wanted except for two (which my mom chose). Amazing and Sad!!!

Hey Everyone!
OK so today was the final Co-op Park day. Which was amazing and sad! The sad part was that the last park day represents school starting soon and I don't want my summer to be over yet!! lol But the amazing part was that this final park day was the best park day so far!!!! If you didn't come to a single other park day you would of wanted to come to this one! We didn't really do anything spectacular we mostly just talked. But we snacked up on cup cakes and chips, and lemondade!!! : ) We hung out and talked we had a past graduate show up, and some people who will sadly no longer be attending our Co-op. : ) It was great to be able to see some of the amazing people from our Co-op! Sadly I can't tell you that you can come to the next park day because this was the final one so I guess that the next time I will see you will be at Co-op on the first day! Just another reminder that the final Co-op Park day is on August 24th at Blacklick Park from 12:00pm - 3:00pm. Co-op Sign ups went really well today! I hope everyone got signed up for the classes you wanted to be in. : ) Also the park day went really well. It was alot of fun. I Don't Know What's Up....

Hey Everyone!
The park day was awesome today! Once again we only had a few people, only five arrived ready to hang out today. I don't know what's up with us. We used to have park days with maybe twenty people or more. I guess maybe it's because we have had a lot of people graduate and alot of people are getting jobs and stuff I don't know. But yeah so even with a small amount of people it was loads of fun! We played cards and talked and hung out under the trees and in the shelter house. Our original one actually! lol I guess those kids decided to over take the new shelter house we chose so this week we were back in the original one! Anyways it was so much fun! New Gazette!

Hey Everyone!!

Finally after seemingly forever we finally have a new Gazette up for you all! I am so sorry it took so long and that its not in the proper format. Kitty and I have been extremely busy because we both have jobs and very busy lives. Also I am technologically challenged and I don't know how to put it in the proper format. Park Days

The most recent park day happened on July 13th. The day started at 12:00pm at Blacklick park with the mere number once again of four people. Slowly through out the event the numbers grew to six and then to eight people. It was absolutely pouring down rain the entire time. For those of you who decided not to brave the rain you sure missed out. We had a rain party! We talked and hung out and Kitty brought Superhero sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, chips, Mountain Dew and lemonade for all! We munched and talked and hung out in the shelter house until around 3:30 and then headed home. Hopefully we will see you at the next one. Because you never know what else might happen.

I just wanted to inform you all that recently at our Co-op park days (12:00pm-3:00pm at Blacklick park) we haven't been meeting at the same shelter house we always do. There has been some confusion lately and some people thinking that no one is coming to the park days because we have been meeting in a different location. I wanted to clear that all up right now. We are all still meeting on the correct days but recently there have been a bunch of little kids we don't know having picnics in our original shelter house. Due to them being there we have recently relocated to the shelter house across the parking lot from our original spot. Occasionally when it is sunny we have also been meeting at the picnic tables under the trees beside the new shelter house. Hopefully you will now be able to find us. I promise we do exist we are just hiding. See you at the next park day!

I decided to do something slightly new. Kitty and I have been getting a lot of requests for music reviews. But actually I wanted to let you know about someone I found on You Tube. His name is Coffey Anderson. He is an amazing Christian guy who plays the guitar and has an amazing voice. One thing though that is really unique about him is that before each song he sings he teaches you how to play it on the guitar. (Mrs. Fishers Guitar students this is for you) But he is truly an amazing Christian with an awesome testimony. Super Sumer!

Hey Everyone!
I am sorry for not having a new gazette up for you all lately. Kitty and I have been SO busy lately but I will talk to her and we will try to get up a new one soon. I wanted to remind you all that the next Co-op picnic is on THIS Tuesday. It's always so awesome! I hope to see you there. I hope that you are all having a SUPER summer! I know that I am. I have been sleeping which is amazing since I haven't slept real good lately, and I have been hanging out with friends, seeing a bunch of new movies which have come out recently, chilling at home, swimming, going to youth group and church camp. Summer is going great!

Hey everyone!!!!!
I hope that your summer is going great so far. I just wanted to remind you all that the Co-op picnic was today and it was awesome! The park was so incredibly crowded today it was insane. For some reason every kid on the planet wanted to have a picnic today! lol but anyways our group found a small patch of unused grass. We spent our time playing cards, talking, kicking around a soccer ball, and playing frisbee. Busy

Hey everyone!

Park Day

The most recent park day happened on June 1st. The event started with the mere number of four people but then ended nicely with around 15-20 people. Thankfully that day it was warm and sunny (no rain like last time). Everyone hung out in the shelter house most playing Apples to Apples and other various card games while some played guitar, others talked, ate, and the moms chatted as always. The weather was nice enough that some groups went on walks through the trails and hung out on the play ground. (Which thankfully was not wet) We all had a great time socializing and hanging out with friends. Hopefully you can come join us sometime in the future. The remaining park days are as follows...

Co-op schedule out

For some when Co-op ends it is a relief. It marks that the end of the school year is coming. For some it is a tragic event meaning the loss of friends, teachers, and fun classes. Many people begin to anticipate the new semester of Co-op right after the last semester ends. Many are nervous to see what new classes will be available and whether or not they will be able to take them. Well the wait is over. After only a few weeks of Co-op ending already the new class schedule is out! The schedule is set up differently this year where it is much easier to read and much more organized. There are many old classes, some new classes, and even a new teacher or two! There are classes from choir, (We love you Mrs. Fisher!) to art, to Spanish, to algebra for every age and every person. We do not know any dates yet. But once we have that information we will immediately post it on our website for you all. All I know is that its going to be an amazing new semester of Co-op! I already know what I am taking this autumn do you?

I cheated...

You would not believe how super hectic my life has been. Insanity and Chaos fall very short in describing how tireing it is to do way to many things on way to much sleep. But anyway, here is the gazette, nearly a week and a half late. I apologize to all for that as well as for the lack of layout. I figured it was better to have an unconventional gazette than no gazette at all.

BTW in referance to my graduation article, did anyone notice the typo on the front on the program? Actually there was at least one inside too :P

Park Days

The first park day happened on May 18th. Even through the blinding wind and the raging storms...Just kidding it was only raining on and off. But anyways a number of people came out to Blacklick Park despite of the rain. The small group of brave teenagers and moms braved the rain and ended up having a great time! The mom's chatted in the shelter house and everyone else ran outside and hung out on the play ground. Even though everything was soaked people still swung on the swings, went down the sides, and simply hung out and talked on that very wet day. "Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail shall keep these homeschoolers from the Co-op park days!"

Iowa Testing

As all or most homeschoolers know towards the end of every school year we have to take the Iowa tests. Some people take them to turn into the schools and some simply use them as a record of there academic progress. But generally regardless of who you are or what grade you are in most to all homeschoolers take them. Now for some this is a fun experience which marks the end of the school year, however others dread the experience believing it is simply another way of tourturing them before they complete the year. There are also many ways that you can take the testing. Some take the test at home but some others choose to take the test in a group setting with friends. This year I decided to take the test in a group setting for a kind of preparation for taking the ACT and the SAT tests next year. I went and took the test on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at Violet Baptist Church. There are benefits in both ways of taking it. At home you can take longer breaks, sleep in, have some lunch in between tests. However in the group setting you have to wake up early and don't get as long breaks but you get to see friends and hang out which is more fun then testing alone. Regardless of which way you test you still have to have your mom or dad read you the instructions, take the same tests, and use that good old number 2 pencil! : )

Graduation

I would just like to say on a personal note that I despise graduation. Up until this year (With a few exceptions) I have almost never cared who was leaving co-op. I had my group of friends and they weren't going anywhere for a good long time. That all changed this year. This year, I still didn't know many of the graduates but I knew lots about them. It was a part of co-op to see them each and every day. It was a part of co-op to hear them laughing with their friends. I couldn't imagine co-op without them but next year, what I couldn't imagine will be reality. Despite all my personal feelings however, the graduation ceremony was amazing. One of my favorite parts was when all the graduates sang "Grace Alone". In the end though, there's not much I have to say about the graduation except a simple and cliche good luck to all our graduates. I hope very much to see you all again in the future and I pray you allow God to guide through the rest of your life.

Magic

Hey Everyone!
Like I told you before the spring dance is tomorrow!!!!!! :):) But I want to remind you that all the magic of the atmosphere doesn't happen instantaniously. A crew of people gathers every year and decorates for hours to create the magic we walk in on Friday night. That crew of people will be gathering and working for hours this afternoon to prepare for the dance. As I told you in my last post, they are hopefully going to begin decorating at 12:30pm. Lend A Hand

Hey Everyone!
OK so today was the Co-op work day and it went really well! Quite a few people showed up to lend a hand. We did a lot of work including weeding, mulching, painting ect. It went well and we got a lot accomplished. We compleatly repainted the murals (of the swamp with the crocodiles) down stairs. Now the walls are plain blue. :( Also we weeded all of the flower and plant beds, swept the side walks, and filled in the flower beds with mulch. It was a lot of work but it was also a lot of fun. And with everyone pitching in and helping we even managed to finish an hour early! YAY!!! :) I just want to say THANKS to everyone who helped out today and helped clean up the church. Your efforts are appreciated. :)

All Over

OK so after months of preparing, strenuous homework, and crazy schedules we are finally done with this semester of Co-op. The end of the year now brings mixed emotions. Some are happy that this will bring summer, some are sad to see friends and teachers go, and some don't know what to feel. Kitty and I were very privlaged to be able to write and report to you all. But... We want to inform you that even though Co-op is over the Cornerstone Gazette is not!!!!! We will still be blogging and posting important dates and some articles over the summer and then we will definitly be back on the job next semester! I hope you all have an AWESOME summer! Good Response

Hey Everyone!
OK so it's Monday night, the night before the last day of Co-op. I have a lot of info we need to cover tonight. For one our Photo Contest is officially over. We got a pretty good response for our first contest and we will have an article in the Gazette announcing the winners and displaying the winners photos. Also I want to remind you all that showcase is at 7:00pm. And we will be going to CiCi's pizza directly following. We have another new member on the Gazette staff now who we will be introducing this week. So thats something to look forewards to. I want to remind you that even though Co-op will be finished the Gazzet will not be! We will not have a physical paper out but we will be posting on our blog, recieving E-mails, and posting new articles and comics. Also I want to say that the Cornerstone Gazette Staff would like to thank you so much for supporting our efforts this semester. We really enjoyed writing for you all and will be continuing next semester. :) (and on our blog) Please check out our blog frequently for updates on all the latest news. A Little Bit Of The Back Story

Hey Everyone!
OK so posted below is the compleate story Nemesis which is what I based my comic on. I wanted to give you all a little bit of the back story so it makes sense.OK so a few days ago I had been hanging out with a bunch of my friends and I drank like 12 cups of Mountain Dew. Now since Kitty isn't really allowed to drink Mountain Dew very much I like to rub it in her face a little bit. (teasingly) lol ha ha. So anyways I had E-mailed her that I had drank a ton of Mountain Dew that night and I was really hyper. Then she sent me [quote] "Lucky!" *Steals Mountain Dew* and then that is where this whole CRAZY story started. lol ha ha Enjoy! :)

Nemesis

Rapidly, a stealthy as a cat (Except she is a bird ironic isn't it???) she sneaks up on her prey. With such speed and agility she blurrs past her foe as quickly as the speed of light. Taking heed of her surroundings she checks the perimeter nervously. Watching for the approach of her nemesis. She hears a foot fall behind her. She whipped her head around craining her neck to see what would befall her. But all that stood before her was a small grey kitten. Resting beside that innocent kittens paws was her Mountain Dew! The can was opened by small claws, thin scratches ran along the top and sides. The kitten filled with glee, tipped the sparkling green can up to her lips. Filled with fury and rage, she spread her threatening green wings. The kitten dropped the can in pure fear as she soared above her head, flapping her wings menacingly. "NEVER AGAIN!" she screamed comming down on the terrified kittens back. "I'M SORRY!" the kitten wailed dodging her sharp talons. The kitten took off running through the darkened alley pathetically meowing her remorce. She cackled as she retrieved the Precious can...So precious...So precious. But when she brought the can up to her beak the can was empty! "YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS SMALL KITTY!!!! Trust me for this, you will pay."

Photo contest information

Hey everyone! If you picked up this weeks gazette, you probably saw that we're hosting the first Cornerstone Gazette photo contest! It's a pretty opened ended contest, just take a picture at co-op and send it in by April 16th either through our email or through the mail. You can pick up all the details through this weeks gazette which just got posted.

We're offering a $5 Dairy Queen gift card to the winner and we hope you will all participate. It would be pretty pointless if you didn't :P

Howdy Do!!!!!!!

OK so once again I think that the Cornerstone Gazette went over pretty well this week. I believe people took about 60 copies of this weeks issue. YAY!!!!!! So we also have begun to have a few articles posted by a new member of the Cornerstone Gazette staff LoneWolf. (If any of you are interested in helping us out or joining the staff please E-mail us or contact us by commenting below.) We also just started a contest where people have to take the best pictures of Co-op that they can, E-mail it to us, and then Kitty and I will pick the winner! Happy Easter

Hey Everyone!
HAPPY EASTER!!!!!! I hope you have all had an awesome day with your family and friends or at home or whatever you do on Easter....Btw what do you do for Easter? Please comment and share your Easter traditions. I always go to my Grandma's house and we do a huge Easter egg hunt accept that everyone plays from me to my aunts and uncles to my grandparents. This year instead of hiding the eggs we used sling shots to shoot them into our Easter baskets. It was AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I LOVE MY FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!! lol ha ha. I hope you all have a great Easter.

The Reason for the Season

Hey everyone!
OK so it's Saturday night the night before Easter. Everyone has traditions that they do for Easter some go see there family and some stay home. But every Easter we are marketed with candy, large (adorable fluffy) rabbits and chickens, Easter egg hunts and much more. But with all of the yummy food and festivities sometimes as Christians we loose sight of why we are celebrating. Jesus raising from the dead is why we are celebrating. Take sometime tonight or tomorrow to get out your Bible and read about the real reason for the season. You can find the Easter story in Mark 14 - 16. It will not take very long to read but sometimes a simple reminder of why we are celebrating is in order. Happy Easter everyone! Remember Always that Jesus is the Reason for the Season!

Hip, Hip, Hooray!

Hey everyone!
I am really pleased how the paper went over today! People took, I believe, 53 copies of this weeks Gazette. AMAZING!!! I am really happy with how it is going. OK so once again it's another Monday night, and Kitty and I have been working like CRAZY trying to make this issue another good one. Tomorrow's Gazette

Hey everyone! I've been working on the layout for tomorrows gazette all weekend and I finally got it printed out just now. I've been trying different things with the layout and started working with a new layout program so it took longer this week. Not to mention I ran out of printer ink as I was printing the last page and then accidentally bought the wrong kind. Luckily we finally got it sorted out and the printed gazette is now being previewed by our momitor. Also Songbird and I decided that we'll start posting the article list on Mondays so I thought I'd go ahead and let you all know the headlines for tomorrows gazette.

Check It Out

Hey Everyone! SUPER!

Hey everyone! I am so SUPER excited right now! The Cornerstone Gazette got out to quite a few people today so thats a really good thing. Also we officially have FOUR followers Yipeeee! Thank you so much! I would like to point out that the Newspaper will always be beside the mailboxes in case you can't find a copy. Also we have a new poll for you guys to vote on! OK so it's officially Monday night and I am so excited for tomorrow! We have all are articles written, in format, and printed ready to go out tomorrow morning. I am praying that you all love this second issue as much as you seemed to on the first. We were so excited last week when all fifty copies of the Cornerstone Gazette were gone by the end of the day. People were talking about it all day. I am so glad that it was such a sucess. Hopefully you all will enjoy our second issue as much or more then the first. We hope that you will check out our blog, and E-mail adress to give us some feed back on how we are doing. You can also vote on our polls, and leave comments on our blog (which obviously you have found if you are reading this lol ha ha). I will let you know how this issue goes over tomorrow. Today Rocked!

Well all I have to say for starters is that Today Rocked!!!!! :) lol Oh my gosh I was so nervous wondering what people would say about our paper. But it rocked I'm pretty sure that people loved it! :) All of the copies of the paper were taken and I kept seeing them all over co-op! They were sticking out of peoples bags, on tables, people were talking about them. It made me feel so great that we had such a good response! I all most cracked up when one girl saw me and a couple other people standing around and looking at it and she walked up and got really excited saying "Is that a co-op news paper? I had no clue that we even had one!" lol ha ha.

Anyways, I am glad it went well and we are allready brainstorming for next weeks issue! (We have some awesome ideas!) It's so much fun creating this but we are only three people and a wonderful mom for a supervisor. We call her our Momiter (a pun off of moniter in case you didn't get that) lol :) Back on track I wanted to say that we could use some help finding interesting stories or articles that we could use. Amazing Day

Officially amazing day. Every single one of our gazettes was taken and we know at least a few people enjoyed them. I'm hoping we get at least 5 people on here this week checking out our blog. If you do come on, please comment. We've never had any comments before and it would be really nice if you did.

Also I'd like to say that our first issue was produced by just two people (And a supporting mom) and we currently have a newspaper staff of three people. If anyone would like to help out in any way, email us at Cornerstone.Gazette@gmail.com or leave a comment letting us know.

Tomorrow Is The Day

OMG! Tomorrow is the day! It's Monday night and Tuesday morning is the day we get the first issue of the Cornerstone Gazette out. I am really hoping that it goes over well. I thought that we as homeschoolers should have a news paper just like a normal high school would. I am praying that people will enjoy our paper and want to continue reading further issues. It's going to be a great, first issue tomorrow! I hope that you enjoy it! :)

Getting Started...

WOW! I cannot believe that this is all set up already! I am so excited! Only tonight we have set up our blog spot and we have worked on our first issue of The Cornerstone Gazette.
